BC Custom Builders was founded by Ben Cubler and his son Karl in 1989. We have built over 150 custom homes from Carova Beach to Avon. The company started by building affordable housing that evolved into custom homes and second homes. Today’s organization consists of Karl Cubler, Elizabeth Cubler, and Rick Godsey supported by the highest quality of trades. Personal service, attention to detail and quality construction is our highest priority.
Our company holds an unlimited commercial and residential license in the state of North Carolina. We are members of the Outer Banks Home Builders Association, NAHB Remodelers, NAHB Commercial Builders Council, Outer Banks Realtors Association, North Carolina Home Builders Association, and National Home Builders Association.
Karl Cubler, President of BC Custom Builders takes a personal interest in each project beginning with the house design and placement on the lot. His biggest concern is that you get the results you expect and the house you want. He holds an unlimited commercial contractors license, has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management, and his construction experience includes 17 years of building homes on the Outer Banks. He owns the company with his wife Elizabeth and they live in Southern Shores with their two sons Blake and David.
Elizabeth is a principal of BC Custom Builders located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She has over 15 years of experience in the industry. She earned her Accredited Master Builder Designation and strongly believes in education. That edge in education has helped improve the business in areas of time management, leadership, networking, business management, building & computer technology, customer service, marketing and diversification. She is actively involved in Outer Banks Home Builders Association in which is currently serves as the first female President. She is active in NAHB Remodelers, membership, education, and legislative. Elizabeth is also active with state association committees, such as legislative, building codes, land development and Build-Pac, which she serves as Vice Chair.
Rick Godsey is the Project Manager for BC Custom Builders. He is involved in all aspects of the project from coordinating subcontractors to insuring all work is being done to specifications and plans. Rick also meets with inspectors, maintains schedules and completes any final punch list items that may be outstanding. Rick is readily available during the construction phase to answer any client questions or comments and make changes as necessary or desired. He attended University of Maryland where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics. He lives in Southern Shores with his wife and two daughters.
Most of our clients are referred to us through our past clients, Realtors, banks, and our signs. Listening to the client is one of the keys to our successful builder/client relationship.
